ExpoBadge, Inc. introduces DLK – the Digital Literature Kiosk
Printing, packaging, paper – a thing of the past!

Printing, packaging, shipping and stocking of collateral consumes a significant portion of most companies’ tradeshow budget. Plus, the question of effectiveness of “pushing” tradeshow material on attendees comes under question, especially when one sees discarded collateral littering the floors of the exhibit hall, rather than in their take home bags. The amount of waste and carbon footprint left behind is embarrassingly large.

Innovation and creativity is what is needed today to be Green. ExpoBadge has developed an innovative way to turn the paper-rich tradeshow or exposition into a more socially responsible operation while still aiding both the exhibitor and the attendee. As part of its GoExpoGreen initiative, ExpoBadge enters the Digital Literature Revolution with its Digital Literature Kiosk (DLK). This kiosk enables attendees to view different companies’ collateral or literature electronically and only when the attendees specifically request it.

The procedure is simple and everyone benefits.

  1. Exhibitors receive emails inviting them to submit their collateral electronically.
  2. Exhibitors fill out a simple Web form and provide the DLK with a brief description of the piece and a URL that links to additional product information.
  3. Exhibitors then upload a PDF file of the materials. They are allowed up to 10 pieces of collateral.
  4. At the closing of the event, attendees are sent emails containing summaries of the booths they visited as well as links to the collateral associated with the exhibitor. Anyone visiting the Website during or after the event can view or download all available collateral.
  5. Within 48 hours of the close of the event, exhibitors are sent a link to an email report containing the total number of attendees that clicked on the URL and the total number of times each piece of collateral was downloaded.
  6. Exhibitors can view the names and company affiliations of attendees that downloaded the material or clicked on a link.
  7. NOTE: Name and company information is only available for those attendees who were scanned at the booth and/or responded to the post-event email invitation to access materials online. Otherwise attendees will not be identified by name.

EB’s Digital Literature Kiosk also ensures that exhibitors get their materials in front of the decision-maker. The incremental cost of distributing literature using the kiosk is zero once the initial collateral has been created and stored in digital format. Exhibitors can not only be Green but also boost the effectiveness of their trade show budget dollars.

The Digital Literature Kiosk

  • Significantly cuts cost – Printing, packaging, shipping and storage becomes a thing of the past. It also eliminates the risk of too much or too little collateral needed for an event.
  • Provides easy access – Attendees can access collateral in digital format at the time and place they choose. And Exhibitors can enhance their materials on the fly, as needed.
  • Offers easy tracking – Exhibitors can track who viewed, downloaded or clicked on a product piece or link, enabling the exhibitor to closely monitor interest in their product line and services both during and after an event.
  • GoExpoGreen – The Digital Literature Revolution lets you GoExpoGreen with the DLK, by implementing “green” practices that reduce their impact on the environment. By making the exhibit booth a paperless one, you’ll not only be Green, but also enjoy significant money savings.
